Premises Manager required to start asap in large Primary School
Full Time (36 hours/week) and Permanent

Avenue Primary Academy is looking for an experienced, diligent, enthusiastic Premises Manager to work with a small team of premises staff to ensure that our Academy’s physical environment facilitates outstanding teaching and learning for all pupils and staff, with particular attention to the duty of care outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2018 and Health and Safety Legislation.

This is a full time post – 36 Hours per week, with accommodation available on site.  The school is open from 7:00am to 18:30 with both regular and occasional lettings in the evening and some weekends for which overtime is paid.

Avenue is a large primary school with a Nursery and ASD Opportunity Base.  The school has over 1000 pupils, aged 3 to 11, and 120 staff.   As a teaching school we value the importance of continuing professional development and part of this role is to mentor an Apprentice (NVQ Building Maintenance) during the completion of their course.

This post is a very busy one and our ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills – both managing their own work and that of a team – to prioritise often conflicting reactive tasks and plan for regular and strategic works.By having a team of site staff most work can be completed in house without resort to trades; applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are “hands-on” and have sound knowledge and experience of carpentry, plumbing, decorating,  groundskeeping and minor building works.   You should also have experience of managing contractors and CDM regulations.
